Not a lot of people know this, but it’s true.

Haiti has many beautiful places with strong and beautiful people, Pestel is one of these places.

While we are building houses in the community for some people lost their homes in the August 2021 earthquake, we are also building genuine relationships there We see people in Pestel are very hospitable, grateful, and generous.

In order to show his gratitude for what we have done for people in his community, this man climbed his coconut trees in his yard to welcome some of Haiti Awake’s staff members with fresh fruit.

Most of the time, especially in the community like Pestel, the coconuts are there to be sold and to bring an income for the family. This man gave generously.
