UPDATE:

To all who gave to this year’s Christmas for our Community outreach, thank you! The time we shared together on Sunday was full of happy hearts and warm smiles as we focused our attention on the truth of Romans 5:8.

We’re already looking forward to Christmas for our Community 2020!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas for our Community 2019

Viewing ministry through the lens of relationships, Gospel, and hope, Haiti Awake is focused on community, church ministry, and economic development in the Tabarre area of Port-au-Prince.  Recognizing that we do live and work in an economically-impoverished community, we often engage in purposeful outreach in order to show Christ's love in action and further Gospel-centered interactions.

In keeping with our purpose and mission, this Christmas we will be providing special encouragement to some of the people in our local community who are most vulnerable.  We will do this through the distribution of Christmas gifts which will ease their burden and be practical for the lives they live.

We invite you to share in blessing them through sponsoring some of the families below for Christmas. For $150, you can fully sponsor a family’s Christmas blessing of a goat, beans, rice, and oil. To sponsor an individual part of their Christmas, see photos of each item below.

The purpose of this outreach is to show Jesus’ love in action as we continue to pursue authentic relationships grounded in the hope of the Gospel.

Meet Franklyn Fleuristin

If you have visited Haiti Awake this year, you’ve probably seen Franklyn, though you might not have even noticed him. He lives next door to the children’s home, and he is a good friend to us.. He often opens our gate for us or clears stagnate water from the drain in front of the house to prevent mosquitos from becoming worse on our property.

Franklyn is not a Christian, but we are developing a relationship with him in order to point him to Jesus. We would like to bless him this Christmas because he is our friend, and we know that this gift would mean so much to him.

(To those of you who’ve been in a vehicle with Becky and heard her call out: “Hi, Michael Jackson!” and stop to speak to a young man, it’s Franklyn she’s greeting.)

Franklyn is fully sponsored for Christmas. Glwa pou Bondye!
