Because Batman turned 6!
By God’s grace, I was able to spend a long weekend in Haiti, and together we did many things. Here are some highlights:
Our first ever English class at CERMICOL, the prison for juvenile offenders in Delmas
Distributing sponsor gifts
English classes at Tabarre
English class at Cabaret
So many sponsor gifts both for Kay Timoun and for the community
Celebrating Caleb’s 6th birthtday on Sunday
Monday was filled with organizing, buying Migerlson a sewing machine for his birthday (Shhhh!!! It’s a surpise!), meetings and more sponsor gifts.
Tuesday was more organizing, buying coffee to bring back for Maker’s Market on Saturday, the required COVID test to return to the US, a meeting with the four oldest of Kay Timoun as we are in the planning phase of moving them toward independent living, and finally a pizza party because the boys finished two 500 piece puzzles.
Visiting with Anora at his home on Tuesday. Seeing Anora on every trip to Haiti is a priority for me.
Wednesday morning “See you later”s were sweet - and such a change from years gone by when my leaving meant clinging and crying and emotional distress for the children. I am so thankful to know they are finally healthy and happy - and safe. Spending time with them is true joy.
