Let someone else praise you, not your own mouth
If you’ve spent any time with me and Steeve Derard, you know we love to laugh. We have so many jokes. We tease each other about the same things over and over and over.
Some of our jokes include:
“Who is the real pastor?”
"This is tchako."
“I want to fight you right now.”
“You have your face."
“Are you speaking English?”And the list goes on and on.
Not long after we met, I noticed Steeve would often say, “That’s because I’m awesome.”
My response became, "You need to learn a Bible verse, Proverbs 27:2.”
'Let someone else praise you, not your own mouth--a stranger, not your own lips.'
And always we have laughed at this joke.
But today, I'm not joking. I'm thrilled to publicly praise the man who is the heart of Haiti Awake.
Pastor Steeve was voted our May Person of the Month by the children and staff at Haiti Awake.
Why? Here are some of the words of praise:
*because he teaches us all the Word of God
*during the period of Covid-19, he has been a great support and encouragement
*he is helping the children improve in their education
*because he always checks on me to see if I'm okay.
*because of his creativity.
Pastor Steeve, you are greatly loved and respected. Thank you for showing us what Biblical leadership looks like. We take great delight in praising you publicly today.
